1. Does my business have to be based in Cape Breton to get a website from Cape Breton Web Design Company?
Not at all. Although the home of our hearts is in Cape Breton, we can design effect websites for businesses anywhere in the world.
2. How long will it take to design my site?
The length of time will depend upon several factors, including the scale and size of the website.
3. So are you guys really as awesome as you let on?
It's certainly possible. Our clients are pretty suprised and impressed with the numbers of people who are searching for their businesses online, and their new ability to reach those people. Our mums are pretty pleased with us as well.
4. How do people find my website?
In addition to search engines, there are a variety of ways to help visitors find your site which include: placing your email and web site address on all of your pamphlets, promotional material, and business cards and including "tag lines" at the bottom of all your email messages communications.
5. Can you guarantee my site will appear on the first page in a search engine?
Nobody can guarantee page ranking because of the ever-changing algorithms and formulas used by search engines to index pages. There are hundreds of different search engines and indexes all of which have their own method of determining what ranking they will give you based on a keyword search. With every web site we create, we include submissions to the most popular search engines and indexes including Google, Yahoo, MSN Live, Alta Vista, Lycos and DMOZ Open Directory Project.
6. How do you bleed the brake fluid on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier?
Um, I think you may be at the wrong website. But since you're here, unscrew the brake line from the drum or the caliper. Dont let the brake fluid drain. Have some one step on the brake pedal, and while it is gushing out, fit it back on and screw it tight.
7. If I already have a site can you help me improve it?
Yes. We can redesign or freshen up an existing site. Whether your company's website "doesn't look professional", takes too long to load or has navigation that is baffling to visitors, we can help.
8. Does my business need to be computer-based in order to have a website? Do I need to know about computers?
No. You do not even need to own a computer or have computers involved in your business to have a website. Many companies do filing, invoicing and more without a computer. Creating a website is more about exposing your business to potential new clients and generating new sales. There is no need to overhaul the way your company does business.
9. Do you do Flash animations?
In theory Google can find Flash movies, but Flash movies/content get indexed very poorly. With things being as competitive as are right now for keyword/key-phrase optimization we don't recommend using Flash movies. After all, the primary goal of your business website is to increase business, not impress with animation.
10. Have a favourite Beatle?
We're torn between Paul and Ringo.
11. What is required to build it?
The more information you have, the better. This can come from brochures, promotional materials or articles. We will help you prepare it for a website audience since promotional flyers (for example) don't always translate well to the Internet. Other less tangible aspects such as design and layout are handled in the preliminary meeting where you specify preferred color schemes and sample web sites that appeal to you. If you have a logo already we will use that as a starting point.
